The Recession Friendly Wine Dinner Series – October 12th, 6pm

City Grocery presents “The Recession Friendly Chef’s Wine Dinner Series”. Come enjoy Chef John Currence’s menu paired with wines from International Wines from Birmingham, Alabama. A representative will be present to introduce and discuss the selections.

The next dinner in the series will take place on October 12th, during regular dinner service. For $55 per person, it will leave neither your throat nor your wallet dry. When calling to make reservations, please specify if you would like the chef’s wine dinner menu.

Menu for October 12th

Fried Chicken Liver Paté, Mustard Greens, Spicy Tomato Jam, Pickled Garlic, Toasted White Bread

Seared Gulf Scallops, Roasted Carrot and Marrow/Parsnip Purées, Blood Orange Gastrique, Micro Beet Green Salad

Spicy Cornbread-Stuffed Quail, Pickled Plum/Tamarind Glaze, Pepper-Stewed Okra

Granny Smith Apple Tarte Tatin, Salted Caramel Powder, Jasmine Buttermilk Foam


Prix Fixe $55

Menu without wine pairings $45
All items available a la carte

    Help! A guest at our cottage in Canada stole my copy of your recipe for Grilled garlic Chicken and Cajun succotash. Can you give me a copy of the recipe published in bon appetit! and I promise I will make a visit to your restaurant. I almost have it committed to memory but not quite. it is fantastic!!!
